How’s your day, Joey?

Joey:

Very well. What about you, Hope?

Hope:

Same here. Hey, Joey, what are they doing in the lounge room?

Joey:

Oh, 那是二手衣交換趴.

Hope:

A second-hand clothing exchange fair?

Joey:

Yes, it’s a second-hand clothing exchange fair.

Hope:

Why is that?

Joey:

You know, many of us in the office just made some purchases of new clothes during the department store anniversary sales,

and we all find it necessary to make space in our 衣櫥，so what we can do is to get rid of some old clothes items.

Hope:

So, you decided to have a second-hand clothing exchange fair over here?

Joey:

Yes, only today, Friday. Do you want to come and see?

Hope:

Sure.  (walk to the lounge room)

Joey:

Okay. Here! My clothes are on this ……

Hope:

Rack?

Joey:

Rack! Yes, rack! My clothes are on this rack. Look! I am going to exchange these 上衣 and that 蓓蕾帽。

Hope:

The blouses and a beret?

Joey:

So, these are blouses, not the shirts?

Hope:

No. Shirts are for men most of the time and for ladies, we call them a blouse.

Joey:

I see. so, these are the blouses and this is the beret.

Hope:

But this beret looks very cute. Why do you want to get rid of it?

Joey:

Oh, it’s a gift from a friend of mine. I like the style, but it is just too small for me. And it makes my face look extra big.

Hope:

I see what you mean. What about this blouse? It looks quite comfortable.

Joey:

Yes, this blouse is made of 絲. It is light-weighted and it is good to wear in hot weather.

Hope:

Yes, silk is a good material to summer clothes. And since it’s silk, it will drape nicely when you wear it.

Joey:

Yes.它的垂墜感很好。It drapes in a nice way. And I only wear this blouse once, but everybody says I look dark in this color.

Hope:

I see. … So, a clothing exchange fair is a good idea to find your old clothes a new home. 

Joey:

That’s right. It’s a good idea to find your old clothes a new home.

Hope:

Let’s go look at that dress over there. It is so eye-catching.

Joey:

Oh, it’s Mina’s dress.  She likes wearing colorful stuff.

Hope:

Hmm… These floral patterns make the dress look quite fancy.

Joey:

Yes. Mina said she is expecting to exchange it for a 配件, like a necklace or a hat.

Hope:

Oh, she wants to swap it for an accessory.

Joey:

An accessory, 配件嗎?

Hope:

Yes, accessories usually include necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, belts, hats, etc.

Joey:

I got it. Accessories play a magic role in dressing. Wow, look at this necklace… it is made of 貝殼, some 珠子 and these cute stones.

Hope:

Shells and beads.

Joey:

Yes, it is made of shells, beads and stones. It looks very special, doesn’t it?

Hope:

Yes. Try it on. Perhaps you can swap your beret for this necklace.

Joey:

Good idea.

Hope:

Hey, Joey, you know what… after you exchange your clothing items and accessories, you bring more new stuff back home.

Joey:

Oh, No!……there’s still not enough space for all of my clothes!
