Dialogue: (對話)

Hope:

Hey, Joey, how are you doing today?

Joey:

Just Okay … I think!  How about you, Hope?

Hope:

I am fine here. But why do you say, “Just Okay” in such a depressing tone?

Joey:

I don’t know. Just … Just …反正最近就是諸事不順啦!

Hope:

I see. You feel as if you were stuck lately. Am I right?

Joey:

I feel as if I were stuck? 就是諸事不順嗎?

Hope:

Yes. When you feel you are stuck, you can’t move or do anything to change.

Joey:

真的! And I feel like that almost every day!

Hope:

And you are forced to deal with some unpleasant things because you don’t have much choice.

Joey:

You know me! Hope! Yes. I feel as if I were stuck in my life and work!  And there isn’t much choice for me to have a change!

Hope:

Well… There are ups and downs in life!

Joey:

是呀! There are ups and downs in life! 我知道。生活總是時好時壞,時而波折,時而順遂。

Hope:

Talking about having a change in life. I think it’s time for you to have a mindset upgrade. What do you think?

Joey:

To have a what?

Hope:

To have a mindset upgrade. Mindset means a person’s way of thinking.

Joey:

Mindset means a person’s way of thinking…...就是思維模式嗎? So, to have a mindset upgrade 意思是提升思維模式, right?

Hope:

Right! It means to upgrade your mindset, and you are able to live in a better condition.

Joey:

But it is hard!

Hope:

No, not at all. You just need to create some time for yourself. For example, instead of using your smartphone in your free time, you pick a good book to read.

Joey:

Hmm…Reading is a good start. I’ve been spending too much time on my smartphone. I know that.

When I turn on the YouTube channel, there are lots of 短影音 跳出來…然後…時間就流逝了!

Hope:

Yes. On many social media platforms, lots of “shorts” pop up for you to watch and before you know it, you’ve wasted lots of time.

So, I think reading is a good start. It helps you change your perspective and you feel more inspired after you read.

Joey:

Agree. Reading helps us change our perspective 閱讀幫助我們改變觀點and we may feel inspired 覺得受到啟發when we read something linking to our mind.

Hope:

You are right!

Joey:

And I have been hearing a lot about 靜坐冥想. What do you think, Hope? Do you think it is helpful?

Hope:

Well, I love it. Personally, I think meditation is a game-changer.

Joey:

Why? a game-changer? 又沒有玩任何game! 不就坐在那邊……然後…冥想…

Hope:

Oh! Sorry. I mean you can make a huge difference by practising a mediation for even only 10 minutes a day.

In fact, I do that every day now, and I feel I have time to relax and reflect my mind and I feel refreshed not only physically but also mentally.

Joey:

Oh~ I see. You mean after doing mediation, you may feel a big difference and it brings a big change in life!

Hope:

Yes, a game-changer is someone or something that may make a big different in results.

Joey:

Great! I can give it a try.
