Joey:

Uninspired? 你是說我沒活力嗎?

Hope:

Hmm.

Joey:

Hope:

Well, I have been feeling a bit lost these days because I think I should do more with my life, but I am not sure where to start.

Hope:

I totally understand.  Sometimes, it can be overwhelming to figure out your next steps.

Joey:

What is overwhelming?

Hope:

Oh, overwhelming means there is too much to bear in mind.

Joey:

Hope:

Yes, that’s right.

Joey:

Yes. There are so many thoughts in my mind that I find it overwhelming.

Hope:

Hey, you should always keep in mind that you are so much potential and you have so many talents.

Joey:

I am not sure if I have many talents, but what does potential mean?

Hope:

Potential means your ability to develop, to achieve or to succeed.

Joey:

我的潛力嗎?

Hope:

Yes. Your potential is your 潛能or 潛力.

Joey:

Do you really think I have lots of potential to achieve?

Hope:

Of course you do. Have you ever considered setting some ambitious goals for yourself?

Joey:

Hmm…I haven’t really thought about it. I mean, I want to achieve somethings, but I am not sure how to go about it.

Hope:

Well, setting ambitious goals is a great way to start. And break it down into some manageable steps. Then start to do it.

Joey:

I think it is difficult to start.

Hope:

Hey, think this way. For example, you want to learn English well, so go take a class.

Then you can find there are plenty of resources and support networks out there to help you!

Joey:

Maybe you are right. Ut’s just a matter of taking that first step, isn’t it?

Hope:

Exactly! Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Trying new things and challenging yourself is how you grow and improve!

Joey:

You are right, Hope. I need to be more ambitious and …主動、積極的…

Hope:

Be proactive.

Joey:

Yes, to be more proactive about pursuing my dreams.
