Hope:

Same here. I can’t believe that we’ve already worked for a week after the Lunar New Year holiday.

Joey:

Yes. It’s been a week and I feel as if I had worked for the whole month..

Hope:

No kidding.

Joey:

By the way, Hope, have you prepared for tonight yet?

Hope:

Prepare for what?

Joey:

Prepare for 春酒呀!

Hope:

Spring Party? Oh! I totally forget about it! Thanks for reminding me. I haven’t checked my email for ages.

Joey:

No worries. They didn’t decide it until this Wednesday because they were looking for a good restaurant to hold the party.

Hope:

And?

Joey:

And it is at the same restaurant as last year. I don’t mind because the food is not bad there.

Hope:

So, what time is the party?

Joey:

It will start at 7 p.m. So, we still have some time to prepare for it.

Hope:

Did they mention the dress code?

Joey:

Hope:

Like that. The dress code is a set of rules for what you can wear for a certain occasion, like a party.

Joey:

Let me check. Well, they said, “簡單大方.”

Hope:

Okay. I guess it is “semi-formal.” You know, not too flashy, but we are still expected to look nice.

Joey:

So, what are you going to wear?

Hope:

Hmm… perhaps I will just wear the new suit that I bought for the New Year.

Joey:

Then, I’ll do the same. I can wear my new dress bought for the New Year.

I guess if I don’t wear it now, then I probably will have to wait until next year because the weather is getting warmer and warmer.

Hope:

Joey:

Lucky draw? 抽獎嗎?

Hope:

Joey:

No, fans and bikes are for last year. And I guess the company made quite a lot of money last year,

so that’s why they offer these high-end prizes…Anyway, I am excited about the party.

Hope:

Well, I guess I wouldn’t mind if I only get a voucher for a department store. I am rarely the lucky one when it comes to a lucky draw.

Joey:

But besides the lucky draw, 我想有一半的時間都是長官致詞. This is the most boring part.

Hope:

You are right! The whole night will be taken up by those long-winded speeches from the supervisors.

Joey:

Hope:

So true! So, I hope the buffet has a variety of fresh food to choose from. And I am going to eat like a pig!

Joey:

But what about your losing-weight plan?

Hope:

Let’s put it until tomorrow.

Joey:

Okay. Count me in. Let’s lose weight until tomorrow!

Hope:

You’re right. Let’s just hope to survive the speeches and enjoy the food.

Joey:

And I hope we are both the lucky ones this year!
