Hope: | Yes, I went to Hualien and Taitung with my family this week. |
Joey: | No wonder I didn’t see you until today. So, how was the trip? |
Hope: | Well, we had comfortable weather during the trip. And the traffic was smooth as well. You know, it was sunny almost every day. It’s great to see the sun in cold weather. |
Joey: | That’s great! So, where did you go in Hualien? |
Hope: | Well, first , we visited Taroko Gorge, the National Park. |
Joey: | 太魯閣國家公園,Taroko Gorge, the National Park. Wow, the view there is very 壯觀. |
Hope: | Indeed. It was spectacular. I had been there before, but this time, I was still fascinated by the world-renowned marble canyon and the dramatic cliffs. We also met some foreign visitors hiking on those gorgeous hiking trails. |
Joey: | So, where did you stay over nights? |
Hope: | We stayed at a hotel downtown. It’s convenient to grab food and shop for souvenirs. |
Joey: | So, did you go to that very big night market? |
Hope: | You mean Dongdamen night market? |
Joey: | Yes, Dongdamen night market. |
Hope: | Of course. In fact, our hotel is just two blocks away. |
Joey: | That’s convenient. |
Hope: | By the way, the government also provides some subsidies to promote tourism industry in Hualien, which is really good. |
Joey: | Yes. I remember that the earthquake last year has 大大地影響花蓮的觀光產業. |
Hope: | It did have huge impact on it. But Hualien has been recovering and I think more and more people are visiting Hualien again. |
Joey: | That is good. |
Hope: | And the next day, we drove all the way down to Taitung. We chose to go on the coastal highway. The view was magnificent. |
Joey: | 你們去臺東走濱海公路? So, did you go to 三仙台 and 小野柳? |
Hope: | Yes. The trip was full of natural scenes. You know the blue sky, blue ocean and pleasant coastline. |
Joey: | Wow~ |
Hope: | Yes. And we came back via East Rift Valley. |
Joey: | East Rift Valley 是花東縱谷? |
Hope: | Yes. So, we paid a visit to hot springs in 知本, and stayed overnight there. |
Joey: | Did you buy rice there in Taitung? |
Hope: | Buying rice? Oh! That’s a must! They say the rice grows better there than anywhere else. |
Joey: | Yes. By the way, Hope, did you go to鹿野高台? |
Hope: | No, we didn’t have enough time to visit Luye Highlands, but we definitely will go next time. |
Joey: | You should. You can not only see the hot-air ballooning, but also see people paragliding there. |
Hope: | You see, it’s always great to take a short break and pay a visit to somewhere nice. Then we may feel full of energy again. |
Joey: | Wow, perhaps I should arrange a family trip to Taitung and Hualien this year! |
Hope: | Go ahead! |
