Joey:

Hope, are you going to attend any Weiya this year?

Hope:

Weiya? You mean the Year-end party?

Joey:

Yes, the Year-end party. Are you going to attend any Year-end parties?

Hope:

Me? No. What about you? Is there a year-end party in your office?

Joey:

Yes. This year, we will have the year-end party at a famous all-you-can-eat restaurant,

where we will have buffet together. It’s going to be fun!

Hope:

Wow. How exciting! Have you invited any pop groups or singers to perform at the party?

Joey:

No, but every one of my 同事 will provide a 才藝表演 to 娛樂 each other.

Hope:

Everyone of your colleagues will do some talent shows to entertain each other.

So, what are you going to do for the show?

Joey:

My colleague and I are planning to dance to a K-pop music together.

Hope:

Hey, good idea! So, are there any Raffles?

Joey:

Raffles? 抽獎嗎?

Hope:

Yes. Raffle draws. Or you can also call it the lucky draws.

Joey:

Of course! It’s the most important and the most fun part at parties, like a year-end party!

Hope:

So, do you know what the big prize is this year?

Joey:

I am not sure. But 我同事偷聽到… 對了, Hope , how do you say 偷聽到 in English?

Hope:

You can say, you eavesdrop something.

Joey:

Right. My colleague eavesdropped that there will be one of the latest smartphone

and two two-way tickets to Japan and at least 10張百貨公司禮券 and some 現金券.

Hope:

Really? Your company is going to raffle off so many prizes this year? A latest smartphone,

two-way tickets to Japan and gift certificates of a Department store and some vouchers?

Wow! I can’t wait to see you get the prize you’ve longed for!

Joey:

Long for? Long for what? What do you mean?

Hope:

Oh, long for something means you want something very much.

Joey:

Oh, I see. Long for something …Hmm…If I am lucky enough, I hope I can get that smartphone.

Wish me luck!

Hope:

I’ll have my fingers crossed for you!

Joey:

Cross your fingers? Why?

Hope:

It means good luck to you!

Joey:

Oh, thank you!
