Dialogue: (對話)

Hope:

Hey, Joey. Have you decided who to vote for this time?

Joey:

Of course I have. I just got the 選舉通知書 a week ago.

And I spent some time reading through the 政見 of every candidate.

Hope:

Wow! You are such a good citizen that you spent time reading through the political views of every candidate.

Joey:

Yes, it’s a must! So, I can get to know who my ideal candidate can be.

Hope:

That’s true. By the way, Joey, have you prepared the things that

you should take with you when you go to the polling station?

Joey:

Polling station 是投票所嗎?

Hope:

That’s right. Polling station is 投票所. So, what are the items you should take with you when you go to the polling station?

Joey:

Hmm…I have to remember to take 3 important items with me. They are my 身分證、印章and選舉通知單。

Hope:

That’s right. You have to remember to bring your ID card, personal stamp and voter notice when you go to the polling station.

Joey:

And once you get to the polling station, you should go to the reception desk and the 選務人員will give you your 選票.

Hope:

Yes, you should show the poll workers your ID card, personal stamp and your voter notice.

Then they will give you your ballot paper.

Joey:

I got it. 選務人員是 Poll workers and ballot paper 就是選票。

And after that, you will have to go to the 投票亭 to choose the candidate you like.

Hope:

Yes, you choose your ideal candidate in the voting booth.

And do remember that you can only use the special seal provided by Central Election Commission in the voting booth.

Joey:

對! 對! 對! 你只能用中選會準備的選舉專用章蓋選票。

After that, you fold your ballot papers properly before you put them into the 投票箱。

Hope:

Right. Put your ballot paper in the right ballot box.

Then you complete your right of being the citizen in Taiwan.

Joey:

Yes. And I remember that you cannot take your smartphone or camera into the voting station.

Hope:

No, any electronic devices and dangerous items are forbidden at the polling station.

Joey:

So, are you ready to vote for your ideal candidates?
