Hey, Joey. How come you look so excited?

Joey:

I am always excited about festivals and today the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese Lunar Calendar.

It is Mid-Autumn Festival! It is今天是農曆八月十五中秋節!

Hope:

No wonder you are so excited. So, what are you doing for Mid-Autumn Festival?

Joey:

Well, I am going to have a barbecue with my family tonight. I can’t wait for that.

All my family members are coming back from different cities today, so I can see all of them and my very cute nephews and nieces.

Hope:

Great! Are you going to eat Moon cakes?

Joey:

Of course. It’ a must. I like traditional moon cakes with mung bean paste inside(綠豆口味).

Oh! I also like jujube paste flavor (棗泥口味). What about you, Hope老師?

What are you doing tonight for the Mid-Autumn Festival?

Hope:

Well, I am going to spend time with my family and eat moon cakes with hot Chinese tea made by my dad.

We always chat together outside the house while admiring the moon. It’s one of my family traditions.

Joey:

Admiring the moon? 賞月嗎?

Hope:

Yes, that’s right. We are also going to eat lots of fruit.

This year, we received lots of fruit from our relatives for the moon festival, such as pears, longan or dragon eye fruit…

Joey:

Dragon eye fruit, 龍眼?

Hope:

That’s right. And pomelos.

Joey:

Pomelos, 柚子, right? 

Hope:

Right! Anyway, I hope everyone can have a great time with their family and friends.
