Hope:

Joey, you are back! How was your holiday?

Joey:

Terrific! I just came back from Kenting and I tried a lot of water sports the first time in my life there.

Hope:

Really? Tell me about it.

Joey:

I went swimming in the ocean. I had never done that in my life.

Hope:

Oh? Are you a strong swimmer?

Joey:

Actually, I am just an OK swimmer. That’s why I put on a life jacket all the time just in case.

Hope:

Hmm…That’s important, especially when you are not such a good swimmer.

So, what water activities did you do there?

Joey:

We went 浮潛, with a coach, of course. We didn’t go too far from the shore,

though. A 救生員told us to watch out 暗流.

Hope:

So, you went snorkeling with a coach, and a lifeguard reminded you of rip current in the ocean?

Joey:

Yes. A lifeguard reminded us that we should watch out rip current.

So, I stayed with my friends and coach all the time. And we didn’t go too far from the shore.

Hope:

Did you try SUP there? SUP is 立槳.

Joey:

No, we didn’t. It was too late. And it was about the time of 退潮.

Hope:

Low tides.

Joey:

Yes, Low tides. The coach said it would be dangerous if we stayed in water at that time.

Since we ran out of time, we went back to our hotel. However, we tried香蕉船there the next day.

It is called a banana boat, right?

Hope:

That’s right.

Joey:

It was so exciting. We kind of circled in the ocean.

Hope:

So, would you go to Kenting again in the future?

Joey:

Definitely. And I would like to try motor jet ski.
